Some favorite things in August 2025

I went to Walgreens recently and found they had a whole aisle full of hats! I was pleasantly surprised! I bought this one, but if they go on discount I'll go back and get more! This one was already only $10 which is a good price for such a pretty hat. A pretty pink hat - if it's still there and on discount I might get this one too. I spent the day recently writing some letters to friends - to send in the mail. Some things I've been enjoying recently: Renoir Artwork Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a leading French Impressionist painter known for his vibrant light, color, and depictions of intimate moments in everyday life. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir Film I have this film on DVD. It is one of my favorites! Now of course I do NOT believe in Ghosts at all, but this film is fictional, and it is really lovely and has some humor and romance in it. Mrs. Muir's wardrobe is fantastic, and I love the cottage beach house too! The soundtrack is also really great! (I would love a Shawl like ...

Some Favorite Things in February

Happy February dear sisters in Christ! I wanted to just make a fun blog post about some things that I have been enjoying lately.   Anne of Green Gables book, part of the puffin in bloom book collection.  I've really been enjoying re-reading Anne of Green Gables but I am actually reading it alongside a devotional called "The Anne of Green Gables Devotional." This is a Christian devotional that also uses lessons from the book Anne of Green Gables. Montgomery novel, cherished by generations of readers. Each reading corresponds with a chapter from the book and invites you to embrace God’s redemptive plans for your life as His very own adopted daughter in Christ. This beautiful 40-day devotional includes original artwork throughout, and each reading includes examples from the novel, scripture...

Finding Joy in Simplicity: Lessons from “ Little House on the Prairie ” and the Bible In today’s world, financial struggles can often feel overwhelming, but Christian women can find true happiness and contentment even in the midst of financial hardship. By drawing inspiration from the Bible and the beloved series “ Little House on the Prairie ,” we can discover how to cultivate joy and peace regardless of our economic circumstances. Biblical Foundations of Contentment The Bible offers profound wisdom on finding contentment and joy, irrespective of material wealth. One of the most powerful verses on this topic is found in Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul writes, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content . I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
