The Gospel for This Dispensation
The gospel of the grace of God was first committed to Paul and is distinct from the gospel preached by Peter and the Twelve during Christ’s earthly ministry. Paul says:
“But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.” —Galatians 1:11
This “my gospel” (Romans 2:16; 16:25; 2 Timothy 2:8) was given to Paul by direct revelation from the risen, glorified Christ.
✝️ The Cross Alone: God’s Provision
Salvation today is not through Israel, law-keeping, or water baptism—it is through faith alone in the finished work of Christ. Paul declares this boldly:
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel... how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” —1 Corinthians 15:1–4
This is the good news: Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for our sins. Nothing can be added to this work. Not rituals. Not religion. Not personal goodness.
Salvation Comes by Grace Through Faith
We are saved the moment we trust that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. It is not a process, but a gift received:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” —Ephesians 2:8–9
Any attempt to earn salvation nullifies grace (Romans 11:6). Paul writes plainly:
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” —Romans 5:1
What Must I Do to Be Saved?
The question asked by the Philippian jailer in Acts 16:30 is the same question we ask today. Paul’s answer, inspired and complete, echoes through the ages:
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” —Acts 16:31
To "believe" here means to rest your hope fully in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as sufficient for your sins. No altar call. No water baptism. No law. Just belief.
Once Saved, Always Secure
Paul teaches eternal security for the believer:
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: ...ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” —Ephesians 1:13
The believer is sealed, safe, and kept by God—not by personal effort. We are members of the Body of Christ, with a heavenly destiny, not an earthly one (Philippians 3:20).
Rightly dividing the Word brings freedom from fear and confusion. Salvation is no longer vague or conditional—it is full, free, and fixed in Christ alone. If you’ve believed this gospel, you are saved, secure, and a part of the one new man God is building in this dispensation of grace.
As Paul reminds us:
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” —1 Timothy 1:15
Glory to God for this unmerited, unstoppable grace.
