🌱 Understanding the Edification Process

Spiritually mature grace believers must first recognize that every believer is at a different stage in their edification. Paul reminds us in Romans 14:1 (KJB), “Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.”  

- Some are babes in Christ, still learning the fundamentals of salvation by grace through faith.  

- Others may be saved but confused by denominational traditions or mixing law and grace.  

- Maturity means discerning where a brother or sister is in their growth and meeting them there, not demanding instant understanding of dispensational truth.  

✨ Correcting with Grace

Correction should never be harsh or prideful. Paul’s instruction in 2 Timothy 2:24–25 is clear: “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves…”  

- Use Scripture, not opinion, to gently show truth.  

- Avoid belittling or shaming; instead, frame correction as an invitation to deeper understanding.  

- Remember that grace doctrine itself teaches patience and longsuffering—qualities we must embody.  

If you make a mistake and aren't as gracious as you should have been, give yourself grace and continue to meditate on helpful verses like the ones in this article. 

📖 Walking Through Romans

If possible, offer to take new believers through the book of Romans step by step (women can do this with other women). Romans is the foundational epistle for establishing believers in grace:  

- Romans 1–5: Justification by faith alone.  

- Romans 6–8: Identification with Christ and walking in newness of life.  

- Romans 9–11: Dispensational understanding of Israel and the Body of Christ.  

- Romans 12–16: Practical grace living.  

This journey grounds them in the essentials before moving into deeper truths like Ephesians and Colossians.  

If a believer has no interest in learning right division or studying Romans, you may have to limit your time around them until they hopefully come around to it, or in some cases avoid them entirely.

📚 Recommending Resources

Mature believers can point new students to sound Mid-Acts teachers and resources.

These resources help reinforce what is taught in personal fellowship.  

💌 Offering Encouragement

Encouragement is vital. Many new believers feel overwhelmed when they first encounter dispensational truth. Mature believers can:  

- Remind them that growth is a process, not a race.  

- Highlight verses like Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  

- Celebrate small steps of understanding and faithfulness.

Spiritual maturity is not measured by knowledge alone but by the ability to extend grace and patience to others. By discerning where a believer is in their edification, correcting with gentleness, guiding them through Romans, recommending sound resources, and offering encouragement, mature grace believers embody the very doctrine they teach.
