Focusing on the Good


To help overcome anxiety, stress and depression it's really important to keep your focus as much as possible on good things.

Phil 4:8
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

The Lord Jesus Christ and His word are both true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, have virtue, and are praise worthy. So, the best things to do are to read the Bible, study the scriptures rightly divided, meditate upon the verses, believe them and pray.

1 Tim 4:13
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

In our day to day life we should also look at the good things in our lives more than looking at the difficulties and stress or the things we might be lacking in physically.

1 Tim 6:8
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Be sure not to put your trust in riches or in the things of this world. They are temporary. We can be grateful for what things we have, but they could be gone tomorrow. What we have IN CHRIST however is eternal.

1Ti 6:17 KJB
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Eph 1:3 KJB
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
