Thankful for Being Able to Serve God

This is our last study for the Thankfulness Series, however as you read and study God's word more on your own and grow spiritually, you will find even more things to be thankful to God for! Today we will talk about being thankful for being able to serve God as a Believer, especially as someone who understands rightly dividing and the mystery.  Romans 12:1-2 says, " I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Colossians 3:23-24 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ...

Thankful for God's Creation and Provision

Believers have so many things to be thankful for and this includes all of His creation. Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Genesis 1:26-28 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of t...

Thankful for Our Identity in Christ

Thankful for our Identity in Christ Before our salvation, we were spiritually dead in out trespasses and sins and were children of wrath, " Ephesians 2:1-3 KJB " And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others ." But now we are a new creature in Christ Jesus 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJB " Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new ." We are now holy and blameless in Christ, Colossians 1:21-22 kjb “ And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled...

Thankful for Our Spiritual Blessings

Believers ought to be Thankful for our Spiritual Blessings in Christ Jesus  Ephesians 1:3 in the KJB says, " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: " This is an incredible thing! God has taken ungodly sinners, saved them by His grace (those that choose to believe the gospel of the grace of God), and given them ALL spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. Not just a few blessings but ALL. Not only that, but once we are saved we don't have to beg for these blessings or try to earn them - they are FREELY given to us by His grace from the very MOMENT that we believe the gospel and we can never loose these blessings! Ephesians 2:4-7 in the KJB says, " But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heav...

Thankful for Our Salvation

Thankful for Our Salvation  Romans 5:6 KJB says, " For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." Well, who were the ungodly? Everyone! Before we believed the Gospel of our salvation, we were the ungodly. Nothing we did, even our socalled "good works" was profitable for God. In fact, we were at enmity with God.  Romans 5 verse 10 says, " For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." God gave up His dearly beloved Son to save us. Christ died for our sins, was buried and then was risen from the grave so that we could have NEW ETERNAL LIFE with Him. Let's read all of Romans 5:6-11 KJB 6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, whil...

Thankful | For God and His Goodness

Thankfulness Series | Being Thankful for God and His Goodness  As believers we really have so much to be thankful for including our salvation, what God has done for us including Jesus's finished work on the cross, our new identity in Christ, our spiritual blessings in Christ and many other things.  Today let's discuss how believers ought to be thankful for God and His goodness. Gods greatness and goodness resides in his character and in his actions. For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. – Psalm 135:5 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. - Psalm 145:17 God is so good that He loves even His own enemies and died for them: Romans 5: 6-8 KJB " For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for...
