True Freedom in Christ | Grace Devotional

Unbelievers imagine that they are free without God. But, they are enslaved to sin, religion and death.

Rom 5:12 KJV -

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Christ died for our sins so that we could have eternal life in Christ.

Rom 5:6 KJV -

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Rom 8:2 KJV -

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Rom 6:23 KJV -

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

His death also gives us freedom from the sin nature in that it no longer has absolute power over us. We can now choose to walk in the Spirit instead of after the flesh. Before, all we could do was sin because our sin nature was fully alive and our spirit was dead!

Romans 8:1-2

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

We are also free from religion in that we are not under the law but under grace.

Rom 6:14 KJV -

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Galatians 3:24-25

24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Praise the Lord!
