A Renewed Mind | Careful for Nothing Devotional

A Renewed Mind

There are lots of things that we can fill our minds with each day. The stress of the news, politics, and worrying over various things in our own personal lives as well. But we can also fill our minds with God's word rightly divided, thinking positive and hopeful thoughts about our lives and having kind and loving thoughts about others.

Eph 4:23 in the KJB says

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

We keep our minds renewed by daily reading, studying, meditating upon God's word (which simply means to really think over the verses) and then believing it. The only way for us to "think more positively" or to have more kind and loving thoughts towards others is also to daily read, study, and meditate upon God's word rightly divided.

Here's a challenge for you. Try reading three chapters in Paul's Epistles each day until you have read all of Romans through Philemon. Then, repeat but read just one chapter each day, really meditating over the verses in that chapter. You could also listen to the scriptures with a King James version of the audio-bible. Try listening to the KJB audio bible for 10-15 minutes (in Romans through Philemon) each night before going to sleep.

Also, find some comforting verses in the scriptures that help you to feel more calm and peaceful. The next time that you find yourself feeling worried, stressed, depressed or anxious think over those verses. Here are a few favorites of mine:

Col 3:15 KJV -

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

2Co 1:4 KJV -

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

1Co 14:33 KJV -

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Rom 15:13 KJV -

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Rom 14:19 KJV -

19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Rom 5:1 KJV -

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Eph 1:6 KJV -

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Col 2:10 KJV -

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

By drawing inspiration from the Bible and the beloved series “ Little House on the Prairie ,” we can discover how to cultivate joy and peace regardless of our economic circumstances. Biblical Foundations of Contentment The Bible offers profound wisdom on finding contentment and joy, irrespective of material wealth. One of the most powerful verses on this topic is found in Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul writes, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content . I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
