Thankful for God's Word | Thankful Series

As believers we should be thankful for the word of God

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Tim 3:16-17 KJB

As believers we ought to be thankful for God's provision of His living word and specifically for His preserved word of God, the King James Bible, rightly divided.
• The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 12:6-7 KJB
• Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15

God's word helps us to grow up spiritually.
• As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. 1 Peter 2:2
• Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16
• For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; Romans 1:11

It also brings us comfort and hope.
• “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Ro 15:4
• For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7

It is also practical and applicable for our everyday lives when understood dispensationally (and in understanding the grace gospel for us today).
• So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. RO 10:17
• If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. 1 Tim 4:6

God's word is always true and will last forever!

• Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35
• For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
• “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” Psalm 138:2

Jesus and the Word of God are the same!
• In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
