The Joy's of Being a Grace Believer | Newage to Grace Believer

The Joy's of Being a Grace Believer

In a previous episode I talked about the trauma and grief that can occur when we leave one faith for another- such as changes in relationships, etc. But today I'd like to talk about the JOYS of leaving newage, or any false religious system, and being a grace believer.

First of all, as I had also mentioned in a previous episode, is that leaving newage or any religion doesn't save you. We are saved unto eternal life the very moment that we believe the gospel, how that Christ Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again for our justification. We could never do anything to earn our salvation. That being said, because you are a believer, the next natural thing to do would be to leave behind the former things (newage teachings, ungodly living, etc) and press forward by learning sound grace doctrine. The Lord's will for everyone is

"Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." 1 Tim 2:4

If you are worried and wondering what your life purpose is, please memorize this verse! If you are saved, you are living in God's will for you to be saved. And now, after salvation, it's important to read and study God's word rightly divided so that you can "come unto the knowledge of the truth." As i mentioned in another previous episode, rightly divided bible study is the KEY to understanding the scriptures.

Once we begin to understand even basic foundational doctrine, like our eternal security in Christ, this brings us joy! Legalistic teachings will suck the joy right out of you by teaching you that you have to do things in order to maintain your salvation. Paul admonishes us to avoid false teachers!

1 Tim 1: 5-7

5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Romans 16:17-18

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

As you avoid legalistic teachings, and study sound grace doctrine rightly divided, you will also learn about your new identity in Christ. This also will bring you joy!

We also have much to be JOYFUL and thankful for now. Such as Christ living IN us. This is amazing!

Col 1:27

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Anytime that we share the gospel of the grace of God with an unbeliever, and they choose to believe it and are saved, this brings us JOY!

Anytime that we teach fellow believers sound grace doctrine and they are edified by Gods word rightly divided, this brings us joy!

Anytime that we help and encourage fellow believers, this brings us joy!

We can also find joy in serving God by taking care of our families, living godly and not compromising with the world about the gospel but rather allowing Christ to live in and through us!

We have joy also when we think about our Heavenly Home and eagerly await Christ's glorious appearing when he comes to gather up His church unto Himself at the pretribulation rapture!

We have many wonderful things to REJOICE about. Newage never truly brought us any hope or joy. But Jesus does!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
