5 Things the Holy Spirit Does When We BELIEVE the Gospel

The very moment that we believe the gospel of the grace of God, how that Christ Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again for our justification, the Holy Spirit does these five things for us-- and it happens instantaneously, there is NO time delay. 

1. You were circumcised 

Col 2: 11-12

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

2. You were regenerated (your dead spirit is given eternal life in Christ)

Titus 3:5

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

3. You were indwelt - the indwelling of the Holy Spirit 

1 Cor 6

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

4. You were baptized by the Spirit 

1 Cor 12

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

5. You were sealed with the Holy Spirit 

Ephesians 1

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 

Ephesians 4

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
