Marriage is important to God. In fact, God instituted marriage. Let's look at some verses.
Genesis 2:18 in the KJB says,
"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."
Genesis 2:23-24 "And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
Adam understood that he was alone and God said that it was not good for the man to be alone. So, He wanted to created a help meet for Adam. What is a help meet? A help meet is a partner and companion. God would then bring Adam and Eve together in the very first marriage (Gen 2:22). They would then become husband and wife as Genesis 2:23-24 says.
Adam was given dominion over the earth. Adam and Eve were NOT "co-regents". Rather, man was to rule and the woman was to be a helper for Adam. Ever since the creation, even before the fall, woman has been a helper to man. This means that women are not to rule over men. Men are to be benevelont leaders in the home, churches and in society.
Ephesians 5:22-33 says,
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.d be holy and without blemish.
Marriage is a holy, scared union between one biological man and one biological woman. It is meant to be for life. There is also no marriage in heaven, although we might still have specific gender roles even in heaven.
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. - Hebrews 13:4
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. - Mark 12:25
Marriage is a good thing! God wants for young women to marry, bear child and guide the house.
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. - 1 Tim 5:14
