New Age to Grace Believer: A Guidebook for New Believers
By Adrienne Jason
From New Age Spirituality to Grace and the Truth of God’s Word Rightly Divided
Have you come out of the New Age and begun following Christ—but still have questions about the beliefs you once embraced?
New Age to Grace Believer: A Guidebook for New Believers was written for those who are leaving New Age spirituality behind and learning to understand the Gospel of Grace through the Word of God.
The New Age can appear spiritual, comforting, and empowering. It can encourage people to look within themselves for answers, seek messages from unseen realms, pursue mystical experiences, or believe that they can discover their own spiritual truth.
But the Bible points us somewhere very different.
Not inward to ourselves—but to Christ.
Not mystical experiences—but the written Word of God.
Not self-realization—but salvation by grace through faith.
Not works—but the finished work of Christ.
Are You Leaving the New Age Behind?
Walking away from New Age beliefs can be difficult.
You may still have questions about:
- Crystals and crystal healing
- Reiki and energy healing
- Angels and spirit guides
- Mystical experiences
- Manifestation and the law of attraction
- Meditation and spiritual practices
- Messages from unseen realms
- Self-realization and “higher consciousness”
- The relationship between New Age beliefs and Christianity
- False teaching that has entered Christian circles
- What the Bible actually teaches about the spirit, soul, and body
This book examines these subjects from a Bible-centered, grace-focused perspective.
What Does the Bible Say?
The Gospel does not tell us to discover salvation within ourselves.
It tells us that salvation is by grace through faith.
> “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
—Ephesians 2:8, KJV
And Scripture continues:
> “Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
—Ephesians 2:9, KJV
This is radically different from the New Age emphasis on self-discovery, personal power, spiritual enlightenment, and finding one's own truth.
The believer's hope is not found in herself.
Our hope is in Christ.
Hold Fast to the Word
One of the greatest dangers for someone leaving the New Age is simply replacing one form of spiritual deception with another.
The answer is not to follow every Christian teacher who claims to have a special revelation.
The answer is to study God's Word.
Paul warned the Galatians:
> “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
—Galatians 1:8, KJV
And again:
> “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
—Galatians 1:9, KJV
The believer needs discernment.

God's Word Gives Us a Firm Foundation
Paul instructed Timothy:
> “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
—2 Timothy 2:15, KJV
You don't need to chase after the next spiritual experience.
You don't need to search for secret knowledge.
You don't need a private message from an unseen realm.
You need the truth of God's Word.
As a believer, spiritual maturity comes from learning God's Word, understanding the Gospel, and growing in the knowledge of Christ.
The Gospel of Grace
At the heart of this book is the most important truth of all:
Christ died for our sins.
Christ was buried.
Christ rose again.
Paul wrote:
> “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
—1 Corinthians 15:3, KJV
And:
> “And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
—1 Corinthians 15:4, KJV
Our salvation isn't something we achieve through spiritual enlightenment.
It isn't something we earn through good works.
It is God's gift of grace, received through faith.
Peace With God
For the person coming out of the New Age, this truth can be incredibly freeing.
You don't have to continually search for spiritual experiences to know that you are accepted by God.
Romans tells us:
> “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”
—Romans 5:1, KJV
There is peace in knowing that salvation rests upon what Christ accomplished, rather than upon what we can accomplish ourselves.
A New Beginning
Leaving the New Age isn't simply about throwing away old beliefs.
It is about learning to replace false teaching with truth.
It is about learning to recognize deception.
It is about becoming grounded in Scripture.
And it is about discovering the wonderful truth of God's grace.
New Age to Grace Believer is designed to help new believers take those next steps.
If you are coming out of the New Age, this book can help you understand what you believed, why it conflicts with Scripture, and how to begin growing in the truth of God's Word.
