Grace Living
At Grace Living Ministry, my desire is to encourage Christian women to grow in the knowledge of God's grace through the study of His Word, rightly divided. This ministry exists to proclaim the gospel of the grace of God, teach sound Bible doctrine, and encourage women to live lives that honor Christ.
Along with verse-by-verse Bible studies, you'll also find biblical encouragement on topics such as biblical womanhood, homemaking, femininity, modesty, soul care, contentment, and cultivating a quiet and peaceable life—all viewed through the lens of God's grace.
What Does "Grace Living" Mean?
Grace Living is the practical outworking of God's grace in the life of a believer. It is allowing the life of Christ to be expressed through us as we grow in His Word.
The Bible describes this as living godly, walking in the Spirit, living by faith, being sanctified, and yielding ourselves unto God. It is not about trying to earn God's acceptance or keeping a list of religious rules. Rather, it is the natural result of understanding who we are in Christ and allowing sound doctrine to transform our minds and daily lives.
As we become established in God's Word rightly divided, His truth works effectually within us, producing spiritual growth and godly living.
How Do We Live Unto God?
After trusting the gospel for salvation, God desires His children to grow spiritually.
Grace Living begins with four simple, biblical principles:
- Study God's Word rightly divided. Spend time reading and studying Scripture daily, especially the books written directly to the Church, the Body of Christ.
- Meditate on God's Word. Think carefully about what you are learning and allow it to shape your thinking.
- Believe what God says. God's Word works effectually in those who believe it (KJV). Spiritual growth begins with faith.
- Walk in obedience. As your mind is renewed by sound doctrine, yield yourself to live according to what God has taught you.
Spiritual growth is not accomplished by human effort alone, but as we believe God's Word and allow His grace to work through us.
Begin with the Book of Romans
For believers today, the Book of Romans lays the foundation for understanding the doctrines of grace. It explains our salvation, our identity in Christ, our position before God, and how we are to live as members of the Body of Christ.
As the Apostle Paul wrote:
Romans 1:11 (KJV)
"For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;"
Being established in sound doctrine provides the foundation for spiritual maturity and protects believers from confusion and false teaching.
Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth
A foundational principle of this ministry is studying the Bible according to 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) by rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
From a Mid-Acts Dispensational perspective, we understand that while all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for our learning, not every command in Scripture is written directly to the Church, the Body of Christ.
Today we live in the Dispensation of the Grace of God, and the ascended Lord Jesus Christ revealed this present dispensation to the Apostle Paul. Therefore, Paul's epistles—Romans through Philemon—contain the doctrine written specifically to believers today.
The rest of Scripture remains precious and profitable for our learning, revealing God's character, His faithfulness, and His dealings with Israel and the nations, but it must be understood in its proper context.
Learning to rightly divide Scripture removes many apparent contradictions and allows believers to enjoy the clarity and riches of God's grace.
Holiness, Godliness, Walking in the Spirit, and Sanctification
Understanding the Grace Life from Romans 6–8 (KJV)
One of the greatest blessings of the Christian life is learning that God has not only saved us by His grace, but He has also given us everything we need to live unto Him. Grace Living is not about striving to earn God's favor or attempting to keep the Law. It is about understanding who we are in Christ and allowing God's Word, rightly divided, to transform our minds and daily lives.
Holiness
Biblical holiness simply means being set apart unto God. The moment we trust the gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV), we are placed into Christ and made saints. God sees us as holy because of our position in Christ.
As we grow in the knowledge of God's Word, our daily lives begin to reflect that holy position. Holiness is not merely outward behavior—it is Christ's life being manifested through believers as we walk by faith.
«Romans 6:22 (KJV)
"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life."»
Godliness
Godliness is living in a manner that reflects the character of Christ. It is not legalism or rule-keeping. Rather, it is the fruit that comes from believing sound doctrine and allowing it to shape our thinking, attitudes, and actions.
Godliness is thinking the way that God wants us to think, doing the things that God wants us to do, and labouring with God in the Gospel.
What Is Godliness?
Godliness is more than outward morality or religious activity. It is a way of thinking and living that is produced by believing God's Word rightly divided. True godliness begins in the mind. As believers are transformed by sound doctrine, their thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions begin to reflect the life of Christ.
Godliness is thinking the way God wants us to think, doing the things God wants us to do, and laboring together with Him in the work of the gospel.
Thinking the Way God Wants Us to Think
Everything begins with the renewing of our minds through God's Word. Before we were saved, our thinking was shaped by the wisdom of this world, our sinful flesh, and our own desires. But after trusting Christ as our Saviour, God calls us to allow His Word to reshape our thinking.
As we study the Scriptures rightly divided—especially Paul's epistles, which are written directly to the Church, the Body of Christ—we begin to see ourselves, other people, and life's circumstances from God's perspective instead of our own.
Our priorities change. We begin setting our affection on things above rather than on the temporary things of this world. We learn to value truth, grace, love, humility, purity, patience, and eternal things because these are the things God values.
This renewed mind is the foundation of godly living.
Doing the Things God Wants Us to Do
Godliness is not merely learning Bible doctrine—it is allowing that doctrine to shape the way we live.
As God's Word works effectually in those who believe, we willingly yield ourselves unto God. We seek to glorify Christ in our homes, our marriages, our friendships, our churches, our workplaces, and our daily responsibilities.
For Christian women, this includes cultivating biblical womanhood, loving our families, serving others with humility, living modestly, speaking with kindness, maintaining a quiet and teachable spirit, and faithfully carrying out the responsibilities God has entrusted to us.
These works do not earn our salvation; they are the fruit of God's grace working within us.
Laboring Together with God in the Gospel
Godliness also includes participating in the work that God is accomplishing today through the gospel of the grace of God.
Every believer has been entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation. Whether through sharing the gospel, teaching God's Word, encouraging other believers, supporting faithful ministries, praying for others, writing, serving, giving, or simply living as a faithful ambassador for Christ, we have the privilege of laboring together with God.
Our labor is not about building our own kingdom or seeking recognition. It is about making known the message Christ committed to the Apostle Paul for this present dispensation of grace and helping other believers become established in sound doctrine.
When our hearts are centered on Christ and His Word, our daily lives become opportunities to glorify God and serve others in love.
The Result of Godliness
As believers continue growing in God's grace, godliness becomes increasingly evident in every area of life. We begin responding to life's challenges with faith rather than fear, extending grace rather than bitterness, serving others rather than ourselves, and living with eternity in view.
This is Grace Living—not striving to become acceptable to God, but allowing His grace and His Word to produce the life of Christ within us. The more we believe God's Word rightly divided, the more His life is reflected through our thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions, bringing glory to Him.
Walking in the Spirit
Walking in the Spirit does not mean waiting for mystical feelings or seeking supernatural experiences. From a Mid-Acts perspective, walking in the Spirit means allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us through the Word of God as we believe and obey sound doctrine.
As our minds are renewed by Scripture, we choose to yield ourselves unto God rather than to the desires of the flesh.
«Romans 8:5 (KJV)
"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit."»
Walking in the Spirit is a daily decision to set our minds on the truths God has revealed to us through the Apostle Paul and to allow those truths to govern our lives.
Romans 6–8: The Believer's Pattern for Grace Living
Romans chapters 6 through 8 provide the foundation for understanding the victorious Christian life.
Romans 6 – Dead to Sin, Alive Unto God
Romans 6 teaches that believers have been identified with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Sin is no longer our master. We are now free to yield ourselves unto God.
Paul exhorts believers to reckon themselves dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God, choosing to present their members as instruments of righteousness.
Romans 7 – Learning That the Flesh Cannot Produce Righteousness
Romans 7 demonstrates that even sincere believers cannot produce holiness through the power of the flesh or by placing themselves under the Law.
The Christian life is never lived successfully by self-effort. Victory comes only through God's grace.
Romans 8 – Living by the Spirit
Romans 8 reveals the liberty believers have in Christ. As we walk after the Spirit by believing God's Word rightly divided, we experience victory over the desires of the flesh and grow in spiritual maturity.
This chapter reminds us that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus and that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Sanctification
Sanctification means "to set apart."
The Bible speaks of sanctification in several ways, but for believers today there is both a positional and a practical aspect.
Positional Sanctification
The moment we trust Christ alone for salvation, God sets us apart in Christ forever. This is a completed work accomplished entirely by God's grace.
We do not become more saved over time.
Practical Sanctification
Although our position in Christ is complete, we continue growing spiritually throughout our Christian lives.
As we study God's Word rightly divided, renew our minds, believe what God says, and yield ourselves unto Him, our daily lives increasingly reflect the life of Christ.
This practical sanctification is the process of spiritual growth and maturity.
Grace Living
Grace Living is simply allowing God's grace to accomplish its work within us.
It is:
- Studying God's Word rightly divided.
- Becoming established in sound doctrine.
- Believing what God says.
- Renewing our minds through Scripture.
- Yielding ourselves unto God.
- Walking by faith instead of by the flesh.
- Allowing Christ's life to be manifested through us.
The Christian life is not lived by human determination but by faith in God's grace. As His Word works effectually in those who believe, it produces holiness, godliness, spiritual maturity, and a life that glorifies Christ.
«Romans 6:13 (KJV)
"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God."»
Growing as a Christian Woman
Grace Living is about more than gaining Bible knowledge—it's about allowing God's truth to shape every area of life.
As Christian women, we desire to reflect Christ in our homes, relationships, attitudes, and daily responsibilities.
My prayer is that every woman who visits Grace Living will become firmly established in sound grace doctrine and be encouraged to walk by faith in the liberty we have in Christ.
