Frugal Living

Frugal Living for Christian Homemakers

Many Christian women quietly wrestle with financial strain, wondering if their lack somehow reflects spiritual deficiency. But we are reminded that our identity and blessings in Christ are not measured by earthly wealth—but by the unsearchable riches of grace given to us in the dispensation of grace.

All Spiritual Blessings in Christ

Ephesians 1:3 declares:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

This verse, written by the Apostle Paul, is foundational to the Mid-Acts understanding of our position in Christ. It affirms that regardless of our financial situation, we are already fully equipped spiritually. We lack nothing in Him. These blessings include:

  • Complete forgiveness (Colossians 2:13)

  • Eternal security (Ephesians 1:13-14)

  • Union with Christ (Galatians 2:20)

  • Access to God through grace (Romans 5:2)

  • A heavenly hope (Philippians 3:20)

These are not conditional on our income, lifestyle, or possessions. They are ours by grace through faith.

Frugal Living as a Stewardship of Grace

Frugality isn’t just about cutting costs—it’s about wise stewardship. As women who understand the mystery revealed to Paul (Ephesians 3:1-9), we know that our lives are not about outward appearances but inward transformation. Living frugally can be a beautiful expression of:

  • Contentment in Christ (1 Timothy 6:6–8)

  • Wisdom in managing resources (Proverbs 31:10–31)

  • Generosity even in scarcity (2 Corinthians 8:1–5)

Frugal living allows us to focus on eternal investments—supporting ministry, helping others, and freeing ourselves from the bondage of consumerism.

🕊️ Encouragement for the Journey

If you’re feeling discouraged by financial limitations, remember:

  • You are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10).

  • You are seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).

  • You are an ambassador of grace (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Your value is not in your bank account but in your identity as a member of the Body of Christ. You are part of God’s eternal purpose, revealed through Paul for this dispensation.

🌸 Practical Tips for Frugal Living with Grace

Here are a few grace-filled ways to live frugally while keeping your eyes on Christ:

  • Meal plan with purpose: Save money and time while creating space for hospitality.

  • DIY with joy: Use your creativity to make gifts, decor, or clothing that reflect your personality and stewardship.

  • Budget with prayer: Invite God into your financial planning and trust Him with the outcome.

  • Give sacrificially: Even small gifts to ministry or those in need are fragrant offerings to God.

Frugal living isn’t a sign of lack—it’s a testimony of grace. As Mid-Acts believers, we know that our riches are not of this world. We are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Let your life—simple, intentional, and grace-filled—be a living epistle of God’s abundant provision.

You are rich beyond measure. Live like it.

    Modesty Makeover

After I began studying 1st Corinthians chapter 11 for my own personal Bible studies as well as for upcoming studies on my podcast and YouTube channel, I had a real change of heart regarding several topics. Including headship, (a woman's role not only at home but in the church and in society), headcoverings and regarding modesty.  I suddenly realized that I was giving too much attention to the fashions of this world. I also realized that I was making up my own modesty rules or comparing myself with current modesty standards in the world and even in Christendom instead of simply turning to God's word for answers to these issues. I began to read and study regarding this topic and was surprised to realize just how many people today go around practically naked in God's eyes.  Nakedness is not just being totally nude. It's revealing certain parts of the body that God wants us to cover. The Apostle Paul said that at certain times they had been naked because of the sufferings ...

    Finding Joy in Simplicity

Finding Joy in Simplicity: Lessons from “ Little House on the Prairie ” and the Bible In today’s world, financial struggles can often feel overwhelming, but Christian women can find true happiness and contentment even in the midst of financial hardship. By drawing inspiration from the Bible and the beloved series “ Little House on the Prairie ,” we can discover how to cultivate joy and peace regardless of our economic circumstances. Biblical Foundations of Contentment The Bible offers profound wisdom on finding contentment and joy, irrespective of material wealth. One of the most powerful verses on this topic is found in Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul writes, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content . I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
