Learning to Be Meek and Quiet

Proverbs 29:11 11A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. Proverbs 25:28 28He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Proverbs 9:13 13 A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. 1 Peter 3:1-4 1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; 2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. How To Have a Peaceful Thanksgiving Gathering

Thanksgiving is a beautiful time to gather with loved ones, reflect on our blessings, and express gratitude to God. However, the hustle and bustle of preparations can sometimes overshadow the peace and joy of the occasion. Here are some helpful tips for Christian women to ensure a peaceful and meaningful Thanksgiving gathering with family and friends. Begin with Prayer Start your day with a moment of prayer, inviting God’s presence into your home and asking for His peace and guidance throughout the day. Consider praying with your family before the festivities begin, thanking God for His blessings and asking for a harmonious and joyful gathering. Plan Ahead Preparation is key to reducing stress. Plan your menu, shopping list, and cooking schedule in advance. Delegate tasks to family members to share the load. This not only lightens your burden but also involves everyone in the celebration, fostering a sense of togetherness. Create a Gratitude Atmosphere Incorporate elements that remind ...

Finding Joy in Simplicity

Finding Joy in Simplicity: Lessons from “ Little House on the Prairie ” and the Bible In today’s world, financial struggles can often feel overwhelming, but Christian women can find true happiness and contentment even in the midst of financial hardship. By drawing inspiration from the Bible and the beloved series “ Little House on the Prairie ,” we can discover how to cultivate joy and peace regardless of our economic circumstances. Biblical Foundations of Contentment The Bible offers profound wisdom on finding contentment and joy, irrespective of material wealth. One of the most powerful verses on this topic is found in Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul writes, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content . I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...

Some Recent Favorites...

Recent Favorites | Early November 2024 Right now I just finished watching an episode of one of my favorite shows, Road to Avonlea. If you are a fan of the Anne of Green Gables books and movies, you will greatly enjoy this show. It was filmed in Canada in the 1990s and was a big hit in Canada. Surprisingly, it's somewhat unknown in the States. It's not streaming on any platforms except for one and it's very expensive to subscribe to, so the better option is to purchase the DVD series when it's on sale (usually around Christmas time). It's a family and Christian friendly show. There are only a few episodes in the whole series that I'm not that particularly fond of (one about women's rights to vote and another about a "witch", who wasn't really a witch anyway). Also, some of the same characters from the Anne of Green Gables movies (the ones directed by Kevin Sullivan) are in this show as well with the same actors. I also especially enjoyed seeing ...
