Some favorite things in August 2025

I went to Walgreens recently and found they had a whole aisle full of hats! I was pleasantly surprised! I bought this one, but if they go on discount I'll go back and get more! This one was already only $10 which is a good price for such a pretty hat. A pretty pink hat - if it's still there and on discount I might get this one too. I spent the day recently writing some letters to friends - to send in the mail. Some things I've been enjoying recently: Renoir Artwork Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a leading French Impressionist painter known for his vibrant light, color, and depictions of intimate moments in everyday life. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir Film I have this film on DVD. It is one of my favorites! Now of course I do NOT believe in Ghosts at all, but this film is fictional, and it is really lovely and has some humor and romance in it. Mrs. Muir's wardrobe is fantastic, and I love the cottage beach house too! The soundtrack is also really great! (I would love a Shawl like ...

Yet, as Christian women, we are invited to reflect Christ’s humility and grace through our choices, including how we dress. Reflection:  Modesty is an important issue regarding our appearance but it is  not only about the clothes we wear but also about the attitude of our hearts. It is an expression of our respect for God, His word, His will, ourselves, and others. When we choose modesty, we are choosing to honor God with our bodies and to reflect His love and purity. This doesn’t mean we can’...
