Romans 1 verses 20 and 21 in the KJB says, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."
These verses are saying that whether you have actually heard the gospel or not, you are still without excuse if you choose to not BELEIVE God. Each person has an internal witness that tells them that God exists. Not only that but that inner witness even tells us that God is all-powerful for eternity, has every right to judge us and is a triune Godhead! Plus, there's also all of creation that speaks of God's existence. God has actually given us this inner witness, but man rejects it. If they listened to the inner witness, they would realize that they are a sinner in need of a savior and that God exists and has every right to judge us. In truth, there are no atheists. They merely reject the inner witness to their own demise so that they can convince themselves that they can do what they want without having to face consequences (or so they think!) and so that they can make themselves their own gods. Religious people do the same thing. They elevate their own religious ideas and beliefs and man-made traditions or philosophies above God and His word. So whether it's an atheist, a moralistic humanist or a religious person, they have no true humility and they elevate themselves above God.
So even a person who may have never heard the gospel, is without excuse if they reject God. So, there is an internal witness, an external witness (creation), and there is also the gospel being shared by believers and there are Bibles too available almost everywhere including for free on the internet! This means that mankind is without excuse.
Homework: While rereading Romans chapter 1, find at least one verse to meditate upon. This means to really think about the meaning and how to apply it to your life.
Journaling: Write out a verse that you will meditate upon today.
