The Importance of Bible Study | Newage to Grace Believer

The Importance of Bible Study " Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth ." 2 Tim 2:15 Why is rightly divided bible study important? Because if we don't rightly divide, then we will put ourselves back under the law. When we are under the law, sin revives in our flesh. It is the grace of God that teaches us godliness. When we as believers put ourselves under the law we have guilt, fear and self-condemnation and end up in a cycle of sin. None of this brings forth fruit unto God.  If you don't rightly divide, you are actually putting yourself under the law.  But, when you understand rightly dividing, and that Jesus saved and then commissioned the Apostle Paul with the gospel of the grace of God, you no longer put yourself under the law but understand that we are under grace.  We are not under the Mosaic law, but the law of the “spirit of life in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:2). " For sin shall n...

We All Need Salvation | Romans Ch 2 Bible Study

We all need salvation Romans 2:12-13 says, " For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;  13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)" Jew and Gentile equally need salvation. Even without the Mosaic law, Gentiles have the law of the conscience. Because Gentiles do not obey the law of the conscience, they will perish even without awareness of the Mosaic law. Jews also do not obey the Mosaic law given unto them and so they too will perish. The only answer is a savior. Some Jewish people might believe that they a...

Trauma and Grief When Leaving the New Age | Newage to Grace Believer

Trauma & Grief When Leaving the New Age Sadly, even with the best guidance and support system when leaving the newage movement for Christianity, you might still experience trauma and grief. Yes, you are JOYFUL about coming to know Jesus and being saved and you might also really be enjoying starting to read the Bible, but some amount of trauma and grief is to be expected. The reasons for this include: 1) Friendships ending.  Sometimes we have friendships that are based almost entirely upon our religious beliefs and lifestyle choices. When you make a drastic change from one faith to another, and you change your whole lifestyle, you might find that you no longer have a lot in common with that person. Add to it any awkwardness that might occur if you have given them the gospel and they reject it (politely or impolitely). You might also hang on to some of the closer friendships for awhile even if you have different beliefs, but you will probably find that over time you talk less oft...

The Coming Wrath of God

The coming wrath of God In Romans chapter 2, the Apostle Paul talks a lot about God's Judgment. So, I think it's important to understand what God's Judgments are.  The coming tribulation will be one type of judgment that is coming upon the earth. Today we are in the dispensation of the grace of God. A dispensation is the act of dispensing or dealing out. Today God is dispensing grace. Dispensation IS a Bible word as Paul in Ephesians 3:2, says “the dispensation of the grace of God, which is given me to you-ward.”  God had committed to Paul the wonderful message of grace to dispense to others. When the dispensation of grace is over, when God raptures out the church the Body of Christ, then God will continue his prophetic program with Israel and that will be the beginning of the 7 year tribulation period upon the earth. You don't want to be here during that time! The Lord Jesus Christ said during His earthly ministry that "For then shall be great tribulation,...

Letting Go of Hustle Culture | Women's Grace Devotional Study

"Hustle culture, also known as burnout culture, centers around the idea that working long hours and sacrificing self-care are required in order to succeed. The promise is that if you give work all of your attention, you can achieve anything and everything." ( https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.betterup.com/blog/hustle-culture%3fhs_amp=true ) The "Hustle culture" lifestyle is really just fear-based living. It's all about strive and drive. People are constantly striving to get ahead for fear of missing out or not being good enough and are driven predominantly by the desires of the flesh.  Grace living is very different. God actually wants believers to slow down in life, when we can, so that we are better able to make time for study and quiet meditation on the word (Luke 10:38-42). This doesn't mean that we never have busy days or times in our lives, but we will be better able to serve the Lord from a place of rest, rather than rush (Hebrews 4:9-10; Matthew 11:...

The Source of all False Teachings | Newage to Grace Believer

The Source of all False Teachings: Question God's word Change Gods word Put mans ideas above God Let's talk about the source of all false teachings. I'm going to go over some Bible verses to help explain this. *In the parentheses is my personal commentary. By the way, I'm going to be talking about Satan. Newagers do not believe that Satan exists or they believe false teachings about him. Satan is a real creature. He is a fallen Cherubim that deceives the whole world. He is God's adversary. The Lord Jesus Christ defeated Satan at the cross, and God is currently working out His plan to reconcile both heaven and earth unto himself. People have freewill choice to either believe the gospel of their salvation and then to serve God by walking in the Spirit, or they can follow after Satan, choose to never believe the gospel and spend eternity in the lake of fire.  Questioning God's Word and Changing God's Word: In the garden of eden, Satan deceived Eve by first caus...

The Judgment of God | Rom Ch 2 Bible Study

The Judgment of God Romans 2 verses 1 and 2 say, "1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. So let's talk about the judgment of God. God will one day judge ALL men (meaning all men and women of course). If you are an unrighteous person, you will experience as verse 9 says, "Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;" If you are a truly righteous person you will experience as verse 10 says, "But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:" But since NONE are good as chapter 3 verse 10 in Romans says, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" that means that all men would end up...

Healthy Boundaries | Devotional Study

Healthy Boundaries As Grace Believers Christians are not to be doormats. The Apostle Paul tells us clearly that we are to avoid false teachers but he also emphasized avoiding narcissists and other toxic people in general too. He doesn't use the words narcissist or toxic people, but he clearly describes them in 2 Tim 3. 2 Tim 3: 1-5 says, " This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." All of these characteristics describe narcissists and other toxic people. We are to turn away from these people because of their false teachings but also bec...

The Flesh Doesn't Change | Newage to Grace Believer

Today I wanted to talk about how after salvation, our flesh actually doesn't change. This is important to understand because you might still find yourself liking newage teachings or practices even after you are saved and have "left the newage movement". Or you'll find that your flesh gravitates to other similar religious practices in Christendom.  For example, I still like meditation. Meditation in itself isn't bad or sinful. Quiet meditation such as just sitting quietly and practicing normal deep breathing, while thinking about a peaceful Bible verse can help calm your nervous system. It's when we attach all kinds of religious newage teachings that it becomes a problem- like if we are imagining that we are "at one with the universe" or telling ourselves we can "attract whatever we want into our lives with just our thoughts". My flesh still likes meditation, to ease my anxiety and help with  insomnia, but I can choose to meditate on God...

The Hypocrisy of Unbelievers | Rom Ch 2 Study

The Hypocrisy of Unbelievers Man's so-called goodness is still evil. Why? Because they are not actually good, rather they are hypocrites. Romans 2 verse 1 says, "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things." What's really incredible is the hypocrisy of unsaved man's judgment towards one another. In verses 21 and 22 in Romans chapter 2 it says, Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?" We hear and see this kind of hypocrisy all of the time, not just among religionists. For example, the so-called "cancel culture" today will vehemently attack a celebrity or social media influencer over something and later ...

God is a Good Father | Grace Devotional Bible Study

God is a Good Father  Romans 8: 14-15 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." For some people in the world they may have grown up with an earthly Father that was either totally absent, or was neglectful or abusive in one way or another (mentally, emotionally, physically and/or spiritually). Even for those who grew up in a healthier environment, our earthly father wasn't always perfect! But after salvation, we are now adopted sons of God and we now have a heavenly Father who will never abuse or abandon us in any way. Our Heavenly Father is a good Father. He never lies (Titus 1:2; Num 23:19), so that means that He will always keep His promises to us (2 Cor 1:20). For example, if the word of God rightly divided says that we are saved by grace through faith alone (Eph 2:8-9; Rom 1:16) and that we now have ete...

True Spirituality | Newage to Grace Believer

Spiritual things are the truth in God's word rightly divided. They are NOT: • Religious (self-righteous) works of any kind (from Christendom or anywhere else!) • Mysticism • Old wives tales and superstitions • So-called Metaphysics and any kind of new-age teachings  • Man-made traditions  • Man's wisdom and philosophy  • Science falsely so-called • Emotionalism  Let's look at some verses. **In the parentheses is my personal commentary.  Romans 8:6-8 KJB 6 For to be carnally minded [Unbelievers but also believers who choose to walk after the flesh] is death [It doesn't produce anything of eternal value; for unbelievers it leads to eternal death in the lake of fire; for believers it leads to loss of rewards and not having Christ living in and through you in that moment]; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace [produces things of eternal value; rewards in heaven; Christ living in and through you; we can ONLY be spiritually minded once we are saved because w...

Romans Ch 2 | The Self-righteous

The Apostle Paul says that the things that the "self-righteous" people judge others about are the things that they themselves do.  Romans 2 verse 1 says, "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things." Romans 1 mentions the obvious wickedness of mankind, however its important to realize that it is also the so-called religionists and moralists who are also guilty before God. Romans chapter 2 teaches us that we all need salvation, this includes the very religious (like the apostle Paul had been) and the moralists (who believe that they are "good" because of their humanitarian efforts etc). These people, if they have never actually believed the Gospel of their salvation without works, merely have "a fair shew in the flesh," (Gal 6:12). The reality is that they also sin in their thoughts and words and (often secretly) in t...
