Learning to Study the Bible

Learning to Study the Bible  Before we dive into this chapter, I want to share some Bible study tips with you and you can read this chapter (chapter 7) and then use these tips to study it out more for yourself this week. Listening to, reading and watching Bible commentaries are great, but most important is to learn to study scripture out more for yourself as well. If you are a believer, you have God's Spirit in your spirit and it is the ministry of the Holy Ghost to teach you God's word as you read and study it rightly divided. Bible study is WORK. But, we must put off the flesh (the flesh doesn't like to study God's word) and choose to walk in the Spirit by taking the time to study God's word and to study it daily if possible.  2 Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 1. Read through this chapter and look for words that you might not understand or words th...

Focusing on the Good| Grace Devotional

Focusing on the Good To help overcome anxiety, stress and depression it's really important to keep your focus as much as possible on good things. Phil 4:8 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are  honest, whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things. The Lord Jesus Christ and His word are both true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, have virtue, and are praise worthy. So, the best things to do are to read the Bible, study the scriptures rightly divided, meditate upon the verses, believe them and pray. 1 Tim 4:13 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. In our day to day life we should also look at the good things in our lives more than looking at the difficulties and stress or t...

Why in the Clouds? | Our Blessed Hope Bible Study

Why in the Clouds? 1 Thess 4:16-18 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. The rapture of the Church the Body of Christ will occur in the clouds where we meet the Lord up in the air. The Lord Jesus Christ at that time does not come all the way down to the earth. But why? Here are some reasons: • We are a heavenly people, with a heavenly inheritance. What many people do not know or may not understand is that in Israel's program, they were never expecting to go up into heaven for all of eternity. They were awaiting the Kingdom of Heaven to come down to the earth, which would include their glorious resurrection and living on the new earth forever. Eve...

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 | Bible Study

Father God, thank you so much for this opportunity that we have to read and study your holy word and we are thankful Lord to begin to study out 1st Corinthians chapter 2 today. In Christ's name we pray, amen.  1 Corinthians 2:1-5 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. The 2nd chapter of 1st Corinthians begins with the word "And", so Paul is continuing on with what he was talking about in the first chapter, but will now expound a bit more on his purpose in writing to them and defending his Apostleship as well. Here he says that he did not come to them with worldly wisdom or an excellent speech. Rather, he spoke to them plainly, declaring the testimony of God. As believers, we are also to speak with others about the gospel in plainness of speech. We want to be clear and keep things simple so that they can understand it, regardless of their level of education. Sometimes believers thin...

The Deceptive "Feminine Energy" Teachings | God's Wisdom vs Women's "Wisdom"

Isaiah 45 5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me:  Phil 2 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Paganism and goddess worship goes all the way back to the tower of babel and probably also existed in the times before Noah's flood. The Apostle Paul explains the reasons why men and women worship false gods. It is because man doesn't want to admit that he is a sinner and needs God to save him, so he makes himself into his own god as well as worshipping other false gods (and goddesses). Romans 1:18-23 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the ...

Romans 6:20-23 | Verse by Verse Bible Study

Romans 6:20-23 Father God, thank you so much for this time that we can spend reading and studying your holy word rightly divided. Thank you for teaching us Lord how that we should live unto God instead of just living for our flesh. Thank you that as believers we can read and study your word rightly divided and that it will work effectually in us. In Christ's name we pray, amen.  20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. Again, before we were saved we were actually enslaved to the sin nature. All we could do was sin! We had no faith in God and the gospel, so even our "good works" were but filthy rags. Isa 64:6 says "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. We literally had no good fruit in our ...
