Navigating Trauma with Grace

1. Acknowledge the Impact Without Shame - Trauma from world events is valid—even if it’s “secondhand.” The soul can grieve over injustice, war, suffering, and division. - Isaiah 53:3 reminds us that Christ was “a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.” Your sensitivity is not weakness; it reflects His heart. 2. Limit Exposure with Stewardship, Not Avoidance - Curate your media intake like you would your diet: nourishing, not overwhelming. - Consider setting “news sabbath” days or using filters that prioritize redemptive stories and community-based solutions. 3. Ground Yourself in Eternal Perspective - Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” This isn’t escapism—it’s spiritual recalibration. - Create visual reminders like writing out Bible verses on sticky notes and place them on your mirror or fridge that contrast temporal chaos with eternal peace. 4. Use Scripture as a Trauma Lens - Psalm 147:3: “He healeth the broken in heart, and bin...

Living Godly in an Ungodly World | Sonship Edification | September 2025

September Devotional and Bible Study Journaling  Living Godly in an Ungodly World   " For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." -1 Tim 4:8 "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;" -1 Tim 6:3 Godly living is not a performance—it is a participation. It is not about conforming to religious expectations, but about being conformed to the image of Christ through the renewing of our minds. In a world that resists truth and exalts self, the believer is called to live not by reaction, but by revelation. This calling is uniquely revealed through the Apostle Paul’s epistles to the Body of Christ, where the mystery of godliness is unfolded—not as law-keeping, but as Sonship . Godliness is the outworking of our identity as sons and daughters of God, e...

Getting Ready for Autumn

Getting Ready for Autumn Hello dear Sisters in Christ, Today I decorated my house for Autumn. I know it's not officially Autumn yet, but I look forward to this time of the year especially after long hot summers here in Southern Nevada.  I also wore autumn colors today. A Claret colored floral top and a long brown skirt. My planner - time to plan for September! I wanted to share a Picture of a cute doll my husband bought me earlier in the year- he saw it when shopping and said it looked like me! Haha so he bought it. I told him I would wear a similar outfit lol! This little bear came with the doll I recently watched a few films - one was Out of Africa. It's one of my favorites. Starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. The cinematography and soundtrack are amazing. It inspired me to wear this outfit ... I was inspired by this outfit below and I realize it's not quite the same lol, but I did my best with what I have.  More outfits from the film.  The real Karen Blixen that ...

Some favorite things in August 2025

I went to Walgreens recently and found they had a whole aisle full of hats! I was pleasantly surprised! I bought this one, but if they go on discount I'll go back and get more! This one was already only $10 which is a good price for such a pretty hat. A pretty pink hat - if it's still there and on discount I might get this one too. I spent the day recently writing some letters to friends - to send in the mail. Some things I've been enjoying recently: Renoir Artwork Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a leading French Impressionist painter known for his vibrant light, color, and depictions of intimate moments in everyday life. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir Film I have this film on DVD. It is one of my favorites! Now of course I do NOT believe in Ghosts at all, but this film is fictional, and it is really lovely and has some humor and romance in it. Mrs. Muir's wardrobe is fantastic, and I love the cottage beach house too! The soundtrack is also really great! (I would love a Shawl like ...
