Keepers at home The older women are to teach the younger women to be keepers at home. This means teaching them how to keep house and also how to guard the home from false doctrines. The primary reason to be a keeper AT home, full-time instead of just a part time homemaker, is so that we are the ones raising our children and not babysitters, teachers, preschools, nannies or even having our relatives always watching our children for us. I understand that in some cases, women have to work outside of the home and that is quite different from making the choice to work outside of the home just so that you have more worldly prestige in life verses an actual need. In order to stay home as a homemaker you may need to live a more simple life, and not have the extra things. You might have to live in an apartment or condo instead of a big house, or have only one car as a family instead of two. God's Timeline  There are 3 main divisions in the Bible. Prophecy, mystery and prophecy, and also referred to as "time past," "but now", and "ages to come."  🌍 EARTHLY PROGRAM | Times past and ages to come have to do with God's "signs and wonders" (prophetic) program with Israel. They were also under law in times past and will be in ages to come as well, though they are saved by grace through faith PLUS works of faith (they cannot take the mark of the beast or worship the image of the beast during the tribulation period for example). God made a law-covenant with Israel in Exodus. It's important to understand however that they couldn't be saved by keeping the law. The next things that the older women are to teach the younger women is for them to be discreet and chaste.  The Websters 1828 dictionary says about discreet: "Prudent; wise in avoiding errors or evil, and in selecting the best means to accomplish a purpose; circumspect; cautious; wary; not rash." As godly women, we are to be discreet which means making wise decisions in our lives based upon God's word rightly divided. We are to really think over things and not make rash decisions. We must think about what is the most edifying thing to do or say in each situation. A Prudent woman is disciplined, wise, resourceful, and discreet. Many women today are NOT discreet. They make rash decisions without thinking things through or considering other people. They "share it all" in speech and appearance, not holding anything back. Father God, thank you that we can now begin to learn in Romans 6-8 about walking in the Spirit instead of after the flesh so that we can allow Christ to live in and through us as believers. In Jesus's name we pray, amen.  In Romans chapters 6-8 we are going to be learning about how God's amazing grace actually frees us, as believers, to serve the living God. We will learn about how, as believers we still have the sin nature in our flesh but that we are to reckon it to be dead and to instead walk in the Spirit. God's Spirit lives inside of every believer. We also have the mind of Christ as we read, study and believe God's word rightly divided. The sin nature is still in our flesh but it is like a chicken with its head cut off, dead but still temporarily running around.
