Your Homemaking is Not Unnoticed

We are not alone in our daily tasks. As Christian wives, mothers and homemakers we might sometimes think that our daily duties go unnoticed or perhaps don't matter that much to others. But what we do each day in our homes does not go unnoticed.

Rom 15:33 KJV - "Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen."

First of all, the Lord sees you. He delights in us lovingly serving him by us joyfully serving our families. He delights in us being obedient to our husband, taking care of our children, and keeping our homes clean, neat and tidy. He is glad when we take time for bible study and prayer, teaching our children Gods word, and when older Christian women mentor the younger women. He is happy when we fellowship with other believers, serve others, share the gospel, and encourage others. Christ lives in us as believers and each moment that we yeild ourselves over to serve him earns us more rewards for the heavenly places, and brings glory to God.

Titus 2:4-5 "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,;To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

We are teaching our children by our godly living.  We teach our children by doing daily bible studies and prayers with them, or simply reading the Bible together as a family, but we also teach them by our living unto God. Children learn good things from us as we live out biblical womanhood. They learn from us as we read gentle books together as a family and teach them important things. They learn from us when we homeschool them and teach them good manners and etiquette. They learn from us by seeing us dress modestly and feminine, wear a headcovering, and keep a positive, joyful attitude. They learn from us by how we deal with various life situations, and how we are kind, compassionate and caring towards others. They learn from when we boldly share the gospel with the lost, and when as Christian women are silent in the churches allowing the men to lead in the churches.

1 Peter 3:1-2 - "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear."

Your husband see's you. You are helping your husband spiritually as you allow him to lead your family and you are submissive unto him. You encourage him to obey the word when you dress modestly, keep house, submit to him, love him, love and care for your children, spend money wisely, have your own personal Bible studies and prayer time, are not lazy or a gossip, guard your mind by not watching, reading or listening to anything that is ungodly, keeping a positive attitude, being honest, being kind, smiling, being affectionate with him, and not arguing or debating with him.

Eph 3:10 - "To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,"

1Co 11:10  - "For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."

The angels see you. Angels are always watching us and learning from the church the Body of Christ about the manifold wisdom of God. They see when you are allowing Christ to live in and through you as a believer. They see you and are learning from you when you cook, clean, bake, organize your home, declutter, garden, dress modestly, wear a headcovering, take care of your children, obey your husband, allow your husband to lead the family, are silent in the churches allowing men to lead in the churches, read to your children, do a bible study, watch a Christian friendly movie or TV show, read a gentle book, pursue a hobby, take care of your physical health, take some time for yourself, journal in a notebook, go for nature walks, listen to and sing gospel hymns, attend to the needs of others, go to church and have fellowship with other believers, mentor other women, keep in touch with relatives, spend time with friends and family, talk on the phone, use social media or watch YouTube in productive ways, go out shopping for groceries and other things, take little family trips or vacations, and everything that we do.

1 Cor 4:9  "... for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men."

The world and unbelievers around us sees us. Even though we are tucked away safely at home most of the time, the unbelievers around us still notice our godly living. When they come across us in the grocery store wearing modest, feminine apparel and a headcovering it teaches them modesty and reminds them of God and his word. Symbols like the headcovering are especially important to unbelievers because they are still being shown something even if they are unwilling to read the Bible. If we have a social media page, blog or YouTube channel, unbelievers sometimes see it too even if they hate it, it's still teaching them something about godliness and could be planting little seeds in their minds. I have recently put paintings of the Lord Jesus Christ on my walls (a few of them by modern Christian artists) and have lots of scripture verses on my walls throughout my home (see examples below) to show Christ to others who visit that have not yet believed the Gospel. We have some extended family members and neighbors that we have shared the gospel with but who reject it, so the only other thing I could think of is having artwork and scripture to teach them when they visit. Even though Christ might not actually look like this, it's a visual reminder to others about God just like the headcovering is a symbol too. I also teach them by simply allowing Christ to live in and through me in the details of my life.

(Most of these I bought at dollar stores or hobby lobby)

So, dear homemaker, nothing that you do goes unnoticed! You are not invisible. You are clearly showing others Christ in you, the hope of glory!

Phl 1:27a - "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: ..."

Col 1:27 - "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"

In His Grace,

By drawing inspiration from the Bible and the beloved series “ Little House on the Prairie ,” we can discover how to cultivate joy and peace regardless of our economic circumstances. Biblical Foundations of Contentment The Bible offers profound wisdom on finding contentment and joy, irrespective of material wealth. One of the most powerful verses on this topic is found in Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul writes, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content . I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
