Romans Bible Study for Women: Romans 1:1–17
🩷Romans Bible Study for Women: Romans 1:1–17 ✝️ 📖 💜
The Foundation of Grace, the Gospel, and Our Identity in Christ
Romans is the doctrinal foundation for the Body of Christ. In Romans 1:1–17, Paul introduces the gospel of grace, his apostleship, and the spiritual purpose of the book. These verses set the tone for everything God wants to establish in us as believers today.
🩵 Paul’s Identity & Calling (Romans 1:1–5)
The Messenger of the Gospel of Grace
Romans 1:1–5 (KJV)
“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God… By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name.”
Key Mid‑Acts Insights
- Paul is “separated unto the gospel of God”—the message concerning Christ, promised beforehand, but now revealed more fully through Paul.
- His apostleship is distinct and by grace.
- His ministry is to all nations, not Israel alone.
- Through Paul, we learn the gospel that saves today (1 Corinthians 15:1–4).
For Women Today
You are not building your life on shifting emotions or circumstances. You are building on a message God entrusted to Paul for you—a message of grace, certainty, and identity.
💜 The Saints in Rome (Romans 1:6–7)
Called, Loved, and Made Holy in Christ
Romans 1:6–7 (KJV)
“Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ… beloved of God, called to be saints.”
Key Mid‑Acts Insights
- Believers today are “called of Jesus Christ”—not by law, not by covenant, but by grace.
- We are “beloved of God”—fully accepted in Christ.
- We are “called to be saints”—set apart by God’s doing, not our performance.
For Women Today
Your identity is not earned. It is bestowed. You are beloved, called, and sanctified because you are in Christ.
💛 Paul’s Desire for Their Edification (Romans 1:8–12)
Strengthening One Another in the Faith
Romans 1:11 (KJV)
“For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established.”
Key Mid‑Acts Insights
- Paul’s goal is establishment—spiritual stability through sound doctrine.
- The “spiritual gift” here is not sign gifts but doctrinal truth that grounds believers.
- Mutual comfort happens when believers share the same message of grace.
For Women Today
God desires you to be established, not tossed about by feelings, fear, or confusion. Sound doctrine brings emotional and spiritual steadiness.
💙 Paul’s Debt to the World (Romans 1:13–15)
A Gospel for All People
Romans 1:14–15 (KJV)
“I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians… So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel…”
Key Mid‑Acts Insights
- Paul’s message is universal—no distinction between Jew and Gentile.
- His “debt” is not guilt but responsibility as the apostle of the Gentiles.
- The gospel is the answer for every culture, every background, every person's story.
For Women Today
You are not invisible to God. The gospel reaches you right where you are—your culture, your season, your struggles.
🩷 The Power of the Gospel (Romans 1:16–17)
The Righteousness of God Revealed by Faith
Romans 1:16–17 (KJV)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth… For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Key Mid‑Acts Insights
- The gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1–4) is God’s power to save.
- Salvation today is by faith alone, apart from works.
- God’s righteousness is revealed, not earned.
- “The just shall live by faith” describes our entire Christian life—rooted in grace, not performance.
For Women Today
You don’t have to prove yourself to God. You live by faith in what Christ has already accomplished.
