Should Christian Homemakers Try To Be Perfect? Sometimes in our social media obsessed world, people imagine that homemakers, including Christian homemakers, are perfect or that they must try to be perfect. This pressure to be perfect and to compare ourselves with others is not new. In fact, we can read about jealousy and comparison and it's negative impacts in the old testament between Sarah and Hagar; Rebecca and Leah among others. My purpose in creating these homemaker podcasts and Bible studies are for encouragement and edification, not to shame anyone or to claim to be better than anyone else. The reality is that even as believers, we still have our vile, sinful flesh. The flesh doesn't change. However, as believers, we do have God's Spirit in our spirit and we have the word of God to keep our minds renewed. The most important book in the world   The Bible is the best selling and most read book of all time. It's also freely available online. There are audiobook versions as well. The King James Bible (which is the preserved word of God in the English language) is also the most read version since its first publication. The Bible is the most loved book in the world. It is also the most hated book in the world and billions of people today still have never read it, especially not in its entirety. The King James Bible is also hated by many modern Bible translation readers, who don't believe that it is the preserved word of God for us today in the English language. What the haters don't understand is that they will be judged by that book! Encourage Other Christian Homemakers It's going to get harder for Homemakers. Just as there will be more apostasy and vile behavior in the world before the Lord returns, we can expect that things will only get worse for the Homemaker before his glorious appearing. Society in general in many nations no longer value or treasure the Homemakers. They do not value traditional marriage, family, or the Christian faith. It's all a part of Satan's plan of evil. Our labouring is not in vain Philippians 2:16 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. What does vain or vanity mean? In this case the word means: Not effectual; having no efficacy; Empty; Fruitless; worthless; having no substance, value or importance. Paul is saying that the work of the ministry, is not in vain. So, as Christian wives, mothers, homemakers and female bible study teachers our ministry is also not in vain. Romans 5:2-5 In previous studies ( https://gracelivingstudies.blogspot.com/2023/11/justified-by-faith-womens-rightly.html?m=1 )  we discussed verse 1 of Romans chapter 5. 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: The Apostle Paul then goes on to say, 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. "By whom" of course is referring to the Lord Jesus Christ. Emotional Health for the Christian Homemaker   Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Though believers ought to "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep", we each need to also remember that God and his word should always be exalted above our own thoughts, beliefs and feelings. Our feelings can deceive us. Also, we cannot expect our spouse or any other person to meet all of our "emotional needs". We must learn to turn to God to meet our every need and He does so by renewing our minds with the word (we, of course, have to choose for ourselves to read, study and believe it) and through prayer.
