Thank you Father God for this time that we can spend reading and studying your word. In Jesus's name we pray, amen.
Romans 5:6-8
6¶For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
When we were still spiritually dead in our trespasses and sins, before believing the gospel of the grace of God, we had no strength or power (as believers, our strength comes from Christ). We didn't even have the power to overcome various sins in our day-to-day lives, and we certainly couldn't serve God. But, as believers, with God's Spirit in our spirit we have victory in Christ Jesus. We can now choose to make better decisions in life, especially as we get more sound grace doctrine in our inner man, and we can labor with God in the gospel (sharing the Gospel with others, teaching sound doctrine etc).
While we were still vile sinners, Christ died for us. He didn't die for righteous people, but for sinners and we were ALL sinners before salvation (even as believers we still sometimes sin because we still have a fleshly body). This is an amazing thing. It's also incredible what Christ did even knowing that the vast majority of people in the world would reject Him, even with everything that He did for them to save them and to set them free from sin, hell, Satan, religion and death. And all they have to do is to simply believe the gospel. But God has also given man freewill so each person must choose to believe the gospel for themselves or not to, and faith is NOT a work.
7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
It's very rare that people give their lives purely for others. And usually they only do it for people that they don't have any real issues with. You never hear of people dying for their worst enemy!
8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God loves all people and he wants for ALL people to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. And because he wants all people saved, he had to send the Lord Jesus Christ to be a propitiation for our sins (Christ died for us after living a perfect, sinless life on the earth). He did this for vile sinners. The Bible does NOT say anything good about sinners and the sin nature (the flesh). This is why people are so put off by scripture, because it clearly shows us how vile the sin nature really is, and how desperately we need God to save us. We all have a vile sin nature!
Twice in scripture is the sin nature referred to as a "brute beast" (specifically talking about the corrupt religious people during the tribulation period, which is a continuation of Israel's program after the church the Body of Christ is raptured out):
2Pe 2:12 KJV -
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, (unbelievers) made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
Jde 1:10 KJV -
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
All throughout scripture we learn about how vile the sin nature can be. But God wants to set us free from being enslaved to it. In fact, once you are saved, the sin nature is crucified with Christ and we become a new creature in Christ! We become a member of Christ's body! Hallelujah! The sin nature still resides in our flesh, but its functionally dead and we are no longer enslaved to it. We can now choose instead to walk in the Spirit. We do this by reading and studying God's Word rightly divided, believing it and yeilding ourselves over to obey it. This allows Christ to live in and through us. This is freeing and will even bring us rewards in heaven! In heaven we will no longer have a fleshly, carnal body, but will have a glorified body and so we will never sin again. In fact, we will spend eternity in the presence of God and will live in total peace and joy forever! Praise the Lord!

Take some time to really meditate on today's verses as well as the lyrics to this hymn (remember, believers are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus!).
