After Salvation what should I do? If you have clearly understood that you are a sinner who cannot save yourself, and have then believed the Gospel of the grace of God (how that Christ Jesus died for your sins, was buried and he rose again for your justification; see 1 Cor 15: 1-4) then you are now saved! In verses 3 and 4 Paul says, " Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:" This is clearly teaching us that it is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved. Romans 1: 22-32 really lays out mans wickedness and why God's wrath is just. Let's just read the verses, and you can see for yourself the depravity of man in his flesh. 22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, First, God is showing us that man really thinks that with his religion, philosophies, moralism, scientific discoveries, art, inventions and sinful lifestyle choices that he is so wise! Romans 1 | God's Judgment  Man is in a desperate situation. Man is born with a sin nature and needs a new nature in order to have peace with God, and to be a member of God's family. Romans Introduction   In Romans chapter 1 Paul our Apostle, is addressing the saints that are in Rome. Romans 1: 7 KJB says, "To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ." A Saint is anyone who has ever believed the Gospel of the grace of God without works. Who is Paul? The risen and ascended Lord Jesus Christ sent the Apostle Paul to be THE appointed Apostle for the dispensation of grace. This means that it is in Paul's Epistles specifically that we get our doctrine for the dispensation of grace, to build up and edify the Believers today. All of scripture is profitable for us but not all of scripture is written specifically to us. No one today is awaiting a worldwide flood like in Noah's time, we are also not under lavitical laws with a priesthood and we are not living in the time of the anti-christ or in the melennial reign of Christ, or in the dispensation of the fulness of times. The book of Romans is foundational doctrine for the believer today. It establishes us in the doctrines of grace. Romans 1:11 says "For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;"  It is an essential gift from God that He has given to us, that through His word rightly divided we can be established in sound grace doctrine so that we can function properly as believers today in the dispensation of the grace of God. We will be able to choose to live Godly, understanding God's will for believers today and participating in the work of the ministry alongside fellow grace believers. We must be established in grace doctrine before we can properly serve God and be helpful towards fellow believers or else we may be trying to live out the Christian life by the efforts of our flesh instead of it being Christ living His life in and through us. Romans 3:23 says " For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" And Romans 3: 10-12 says, " As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Romans 1: 8-22 in the KJB is Paul speaking to the saints (believers) regarding his prayer to God that the believers would be established (to make stable/firm and stablished is to be built up) in the sound grace doctrine that is given in his epistle (Romans). The layout of Romans- Philemon is specifically designed to establish and edify the Believer in sound grace doctrine. Romans will give you the foundational teachings of the grace faith; specifically it will teach you the condition of unsaved man, the Gospel of your salvation (Christ's death, burial and resurrection as atonement for our sins), that we are saved by grace through faith alone plus nothing, who we are In Christ as believers, that the old man is now dead and we are a new creature in Christ, how to yield unto God by walking in the Spirit instead of walking after the flesh, the dispensational changes, how to be of loving service to other believers and much more.
