Christ, the Firstfruits | Salvation Basics

1 Corinthians 15:23 “But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.” The purpose for the Lord Jesus Christ coming to earth as a man, living a perfect, sinless life and then dying on the cross for our sins was so that He could conquer death for us.  1 Cor 15:1-4 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 5:6 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:8-11 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Chris...

Let God be True | Romans Ch 3

Father God, thank you for this time that we can spend reading and studying your word, in particular today the book of Romans chapter 3. Thank you for showing us, Father, that we can always trust you and your word. Thank you also for your Holy Spirit in us that helps us to understand your word. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen.  Let God be True  Romans 3:4c,d says, “let God be true, but every man a liar;" As we come to understand that all people are sinners, we also understand that men lie. At one time or another, every person has or will lie. Not only that, but man shares other men's lies, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Political propaganda is one example. "Fake or distorted news" is another. But lies are also extremely prevalent in religion including within Christendom. This is why we must also understand that God NEVER lies. His word is also ALWAYS the truth. Of course, we need to rightly divide the scriptures, so that we are not putting ourselves under old Tes...

Homemaking is Important to God

Homemaking is very important to God. God actually speaks about women being homemakers in scripture. Let's look at some verses. Titus 2:5 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Proverbs 14:1  - Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. Proverbs 31 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household , and eateth not the bread of idleness. 1 Timothy 5:14  - I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. Our lives as believers should not be all about worldly achievements and ambitions. When we are saved, the reason why God doesn't just take us up to heaven immediately is so that we can remain here a little while to: 1) Give the gospel to others. This would include our own children and teaching our children Gods word.   2) Read, study a...

The Faith OF Christ and Faith IN Christ | Salvation Basics

The Faith OF Christ & Faith IN Christ   Galatians 2:16 in the KJB says, 16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." We are justified by the faith OF Jesus Christ when we believe IN Jesus Christ and in what He did for us through His death, burial and resurrection. • The faith OF Jesus Christ is from Christ. • Believe IN Jesus Christ is man's faith in or to "faith in Jesus Christ". Romans 3:22 KJB 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Philippians 3:9 KJB 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the r...

Religion and Mans Traditions vs Grace and Faith | Romans 3

Religion & Tradition vs Grace & Faith  Father God, thank you for this time that we can spend reading and studying your word. Thank you for clearly showing us in your word the differences between man's Religion and faith. Thank you also for your Holy Spirit in us that helps us to understand your word. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen.  Understanding that the purpose of the law is to show us that we are sinners, we ought to also understand the differences between Religion and mans traditions, and Grace and Faith. Religion includes trying to earn your way to heaven, or trying to maintain your salvation, or trying to earn additional blessings or mercies from God (or all of the above together!). It is purely a work of the flesh and has a "form of godliness". It appears to be godly, but isn't. This includes the religious traditions of men. What kind of religious traditions? Here's a few examples: • Sabbath keeping (requiring attending church on Saturday or Sund...

Motherhood is Important to God

Just as marriage is important to God, so is parenting. Fathers and mothers play such an important role in society. God cares deeply about Motherhood. The Lord Jesus Christ had his own earthly mother, a godly Jewish woman that nurtured and cared for him as he grew up. Though she was not perfect herself, she was one of the few people who stood by the Lord when he was being crucified.  Exodus 20:12 says,  "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."  Proverbs 31:28 says, "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her" As Christian mothers we are to raise our children up in the word of God. Even as grandmother's we are to help teach our own grandchildren the word of God as well (if the parents hopefully permit it!). Timothy was brought up being taught the word of God by his mother and also perhaps by his grandmother. His Father was either an unbeliever or perhaps ...

The Mystery | Salvation Basics | Women's Rightly Divided Bible Study

The Mystery  I will be talking about the mystery in much more detail in a coming Bible study series, but for now let's do a brief introductory study regarding the mystery.  First of all, a mystery is a secret. Our dispensation of grace was a SECRET kept hid in God until it was revealed first to Paul. It is no longer a secret since it was revealed but it is referred to as "the mystery" because it had previously been a secret. Satan is blinding most people from knowing anything about it!  Ephesians 3:1-11 in the KJB says, 1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apost...

The Purpose of the Law | Romans Ch 3 | Women's Rightly Divided Bible Study

✝️🙏 Prayer: Father God, thank you for this time that we can spend reading and studying your word, in particular today the book of Romans chapter 3. Thank you for your Holy Spirit in us that helps us to understand your word. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen.  The Purpose of the Law The purpose of the law is for us to have the knowledge of sin. It shows us our sin nature.  Romans 3: 19-20 in the KJB says, 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. If an unbeliever hears the law and is completely honest with himself, he will realize that he is a sinner. Israel was given the law in Exodus and they tried off and on for around 1500 years (before the death of Christ) to keep the law and they failed to keep it. Of course, th...

Marriage is Important to God

Marriage is important to God. In fact, God instituted marriage. Let's look at some verses.  Genesis 2:18 in the KJB says, " And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him ." Genesis 2:23-24 " And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh ." Adam understood that he was alone and God said that it was not good for the man to be alone. So, He wanted to created a help meet for Adam. What is a help meet? A help meet is a partner and companion. God would then bring Adam and Eve together in the very first marriage (Gen 2:22). They would then become husband and wife as Genesis 2:23-24 says.  Adam was given dominion over the earth. Adam and Eve were NOT "co-regents". Rather, man was to rule and the woman was ...
