What I'm Enjoying in March

Happy Spring! Winter is over and spring is here. I really enjoy beautiful Spring-time weather. This is my favorite time of the year with Easter (the Lord's resurrection day) just around the corner too.

It's already the end of March but I thought I would share a few things that I've been enjoying recently.

Sense & Sensibility

by Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice was my favorite Jane Austen book for many years, however, in recent years I have grown more fond of Sense and Sensibility. I was very much like Marianne when I was younger ... very emotional and believing that true love should be something extravagant or over the top passionate. But, I married a man who is more like Colonial Brandon... a little older than me (10 years actually), and who is sensible, quiet and reserved. I'm thankful for that. So, I really enjoy this book. I have the Puffin in Bloom collectors edition version of it that I've been reading and I really love these smaller sized books with the beautiful covers. It adds more joy to my day just looking at it. I love to read it while enjoying a cup of Lavender Chamomile tea.

Another coloring book

I needed to add a little more to my Amazon shopping cart when I was ordering something else in order to get the free shipping and so I included this coloring book and I'm so glad that I did!

It's a much more detailed coloring book than some of my other coloring books, but the scenery is wonderful and I can just imagine visiting such places. It reminds me of a series I watched recently on Amazon Prime called "Hidden British Villages", which was enjoyable to watch. I grew up in a small town in the southwest, so I understand what it's like to live in a rural country area though I've never lived in Europe or a sea-side village. Perhaps one day my husband and I will retire and move to a quaint little village or small town somewhere. Right now we live in the suburbs of a major city. Our neighborhood is fairly quiet but it's still not the same as living in a small town or in the countryside. I do miss it.

Vivaldi

Lately I've been enjoying listening to Antonio Vivaldi. A lot of his music reminds me of spring time. CLICK HERE to listen to my favorite Vivaldi song.

I was so happy to get this beautiful Monet painting at a discounted price at Ross department store. It came fully framed too! I really like it! I believe it is called "woman with a parasol".

St. Patrick- a short audio book

This is a short biography about the real St. Patrick with quotes from his personal journal entries. Christians of any denomination can enjoy this audio book. CLICK HERE

Heidi Audiobook

This is one of my favorite children's books and I've always liked the various film versions as well. The audio book is also enjoyable. CLICK HERE.

If you've never seen it, you might enjoy watching Emily New Moon TV series. I first watched this a few years ago when I was bedridden from illness, and I enjoyed watching it. It's based on the Emily books by Lucy M. Montgomery who also wrote Anne of Green Gables. The Emily books are great but are a little more serious than Anne of Green Gables and a slightly more mystical tone, but still appropriate for Christians (unless you are super strict). I've been watching it again recently on the Pluto TV app.

I hope that you are all enjoying the new season!

In His Grace,

Mrs. Adrienne Jason

Finding Joy in Simplicity: Lessons from “ Little House on the Prairie ” and the Bible In today’s world, financial struggles can often feel overwhelming, but Christian women can find true happiness and contentment even in the midst of financial hardship. By drawing inspiration from the Bible and the beloved series “ Little House on the Prairie ,” we can discover how to cultivate joy and peace regardless of our economic circumstances. Biblical Foundations of Contentment The Bible offers profound wisdom on finding contentment and joy, irrespective of material wealth. One of the most powerful verses on this topic is found in Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul writes, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content . I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
