Why Rightly Divide? 5. For Peace of Mind and Hope
Rightly divided bible study brings us peace of mind and hope. We understand, through rightly divided bible study, that we are
• Saved from hell
• Delivered from the wrath to come (the 7 year tribulation on the earth)
• Our suffering isn't for nothing
• We have a blessed hope
• We can serve God and earn rewards for heaven
• We know without a doubt that we have eternal life!
• We look forward to the many wonderful things to come
Let's look at some verses regarding each of these things.
• Saved from hell and delivered from the wrath to come (the 7 year tribulation on the earth).
Without rightly dividing the scriptures, you might believe that you have to do works to be saved or in order to maintain your salvation or that you will go through the tribulation period. Thankfully, with rightly divided bible study we learn that we are saved by grace through faith alone PLUS NOTHING, that we cannot loose our salvation and that we will be raptured out before the 7 year tribulation begins.
Romans 5:9-10 KJB
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
1 Thessalonians 1:10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
• Our Suffering Isn't For Nothing
As we rightly divide the scriptures we come to understand that even in our sufferings, God will work all things together for good.
Romans 8:18
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
• We have a blessed hope
As we rightly divide the scriptures, we learn that we have a blessed hope which includes the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church the Body of Christ, receiving our glorified bodies, being with Christ in the Heavenly places forever, receiving our eternal rewards if we earned them and having a position in God's heavenly government where the church the Body of Christ will rule and reign with Him in the heavens for eternity. We will also see our saved loved ones again who have died and they are with Jesus after they died. If we die before the rapture, God will take our soul and spirit up to heaven to be with him until the rapture when we receive our heavenly, glorified bodies. Then we will stay in the heavenly places in glorious bodies, with God and all of the Holy Angels and saints for all of eternity!
Titus 2:13
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
2 Corinthians 5:1
5 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Ephesians 2:6-7
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
“13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
Philippians 1:23
“For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:”
Philippians 1:21
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
• We can serve God and earn rewards for heaven.
When we rightly divide and understand salvation and God's will for us today, and that He is forming the church the Body of Christ today to inherit the heavenly places, then we can properly serve God. We can also then earn rewards for heaven as we read and study God's word rightly divided, believe it and yeild ourselves to obey it (allowing Christ to live in and through us).
Ephesians 5:17
“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
Colossians 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
1 Corinthians 3:12-13
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
2 Timothy 4:8
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
• We know without a doubt that we have eternal life!
By rightly dividing the scriptures we know that we have imputed righteousness; we are justified and completely forgiven of ALL past, present and future sin, we are complete in Christ, we are also hid with Christ in God and we are a new creature in Christ Jesus and so many more wonderful truths. Here are just a few verses that speak about these spiritual blessings:
Romans 3:24
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
2 Corinthians 5:21
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Colossians 2:13
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Romans 8: 38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 1:13-14
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Colossians 2:10
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Ephesians 1:6
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Colossians 1:27
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Colossians 3:3-4
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• We look forward to the many wonderful things to come
As we rightly divide the scriptures we also learn and even look forward to the many wonderful things to come!
1 Cor 6:3 "Know ye not that we shall judge angels?"
Ephesians 1:10
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
