all things work together for good to them that love God| Women's Grace Devotional

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

As believers, we can REJOICE for many reasons and one of them being that God works all things together for our (a believers) good. How does God do this and what does it really mean?

Christendom sometimes teaches that this verse means that God will heal every situation in your life and everything in this life will all turn out good as we would like it to. But that's NOT what this verse is saying. The fact is that there will be things in our lives here and now that might never be resolved in the ways that we would like while we are here on earth.

What it is saying is that regardless of how things turn out for us in this life, in eternity it all works out for good. For example, if we have family and friends who are saved but only a few of them ever learn to rightly divide the scriptures, we know that in eternity they will eventually come unto the knowledge of the truth. We want to try to teach them sound grace doctrine while they are here on earth so that they earn rewards for heaven, but if they reject it, if they are really saved, they will eventually learn it in heaven! It takes pressure off of us and we will operate even more from grace.

Another example is, if you are suffering physically, even if you never improve in your health in this life, as you allow God and His word to live in and through you even through your physical suffering, you will earn more rewards for heaven and in heaven we will one day have glorified bodies and so all of the suffering we endure here on earth, God will work for our good in eternity. Even more amazingly is that your suffering can lead you to get into God's word even more while you are here on earth, and could lead to higher positions in the heavenly places after the rapture! So even in our sufferings here on earth, we still have the victory in Christ! Our suffering is not for nothing.

Romans 8:18 says, "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."

No matter the situation, and whether or not it resolves while we are here on earth, in eternity we have the victory through Christ!

Also, in this verse Paul says, "and we know that "... how do we know that God is working all things out for good for believers? By reading and studying God's Word rightly divided! God's word teaches us that He is and will work all things together for our good, that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus, that we are complete in Him, that we are now Gods dearly beloved, that we have eternal life, that we are seated with Christ in the Heavenly places, and that we have a blessed hope!
