Biblical Womanhood is Liberating

Biblical womanhood is liberating because Christ has freed us (the believer) from

1) Being slaves to sin and the sin nature

2) Trying to keep the law in our own fleshly efforts

3) Fear, guilt and self-condemnation when we choose as believers to live godly.

Romans 6:18-23

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 8:1-6

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Galatians 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Ungodly women are NOT free. The spiritually lost are enslaved to sin. Many women today are "laden with sins." Their sins just keep piling up more and more as the days, weeks, months and years go on without them choosing to believe the gospel. As these women get older, they typically become more prideful about their sin and about their own opinions about things. They harden their hearts more and more to God, the Gospel and God's word. Womens talk shows clearly show us how prideful these women can be when they sit there defending murder of innocent babies in the womb among many other ungodly things! Even worse is when carnally-minded Christians support these women and their ungodly lifestyles and opinions. They do not realize the damage they are doing and that they are just gathering up more wrath for themselves on the day of judgment (think of the many women they influence with their ungodly agendas).

As believers we can choose to live godly. This means reading and studying God's Word rightly divided, believing it and obeying it. We are to put off the old man and walk in the Spirit instead. When we do so, it's really Christ and His word living in and through us. This is liberating! Our flesh doesn't like it, but it will lead to rewards in heaven one day after the rapture. We will be rewarded for our godly living! What reward will the ungodly unbelievers have?

Revelation 21:8

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

It's also NOT more liberating for Christian women to just live however they want to live. Living after the flesh as a believer leads to fear, guilt, self-condemnation and loss of rewards in heaven. If you believe, for example, that being a homemaker is the best decision for your family based upon your understanding of God's word, don't let ungodly unbelieving women, or carnally-minded believers, or your flesh talk you into anything else!

The next time you hear someone say that's its "more liberating" to live after the flesh, just remember these verses. Share the gospel with that person if you can and pray that they will choose to believe it.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which ...
